We are Tony and Chantal and together with our two sons, we own the Hostel Real Dream in Ibarra. We are very happy to share our story with you. We are Belgians who arrived in Ibarra 5 years ago and we just fell in love with this place. Like most travelers we were just interested in Otavalo, due to its popularity, but luckily we also discovered Ibarra.
We decided to stay in Ibarra for these reasons: we feel safe and welcomed by its people, and we love the amazing eternal spring weather and the access to fresh food. We are travelers ourselves and bundled our experiences into ideas about what is important to offer the guests, like:
we speak fluent English, Spanish and Dutch
hot water showers with the perfect amount of pressure (we provide free towels)
comfortable beds with orthopedic mattresses
Super fast and free Wi-Fi in the rooms and common areas
unique in Ibarra: No 24 hours open = a good night's sleep in a quiet surrounding. Guests receive a key to the door.
a place to relax and to enjoy the warm climate in the city garden
a kitchen with free basic ingredients in which you can cook your own meals. Free coffee, thee and water.
close to key areas such like banks (ATM), market, supermarkets, buses, restaurants, nightlife...
a storage service: suitcases, backpacks, instruments, documents, passports, money
lots of information about Ibarra and other places to see in Ecuador
airport service Ibarra - airport - Ibarra
- Spanish and English language courses
looking for a massage, yoga, orthopedist or doctor? We can help you ...
The guests not only have their private room, they can also use the kitchen for cooking. You can enjoy your meal at one of the tables outside in our city garden. And who knows... you might see some humming birds.
Because we live in the back of our property, we are always around in case our guests need information or help. No check-in is allowed before 7.00 am and after 21 pm... unless previous arrangements are made. We are happy for guests to arrive outside of these hours, but please arrange with us in advance, to ensure that we are around to welcome you. After registering you will receive a key so you can leave and enter the guesthouse whenever you wish. We are officially registered as a guesthouse (we can offer you an invoice) and every year we go through inspections of: ministry of tourism, sanitary control, safety (fire department), health (personal), Sayce ..
Our guesthouse is different than the average hostels you find on your trip. The family atmosphere, the lively colors painted by the owner, the conversations among guests and us in the common areas ... whether it is small talk or spiritual... everything is possible. Check out our many more pictures and reviews on Tripadvisor.
We encourage you to visit Ibarra and discover this hidden gem in the Ecuadorian Andes. We are here to help you - use the form on our site to book a room, or ask us any questions you may have.
See you soon
